Biography

Born in Greenland in 1977, Arnannguaq Gerstrøm studied at Malmö Academy of Music at Lund University in Sweden, where she earned a Master of Fine Arts. She also studied at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, UK.

 

Her works have been commissioned and performed internationally by symphony orchestras, ensembles, choirs and distinguished soloists.

 

Her artistic voice brings Inuit cultural references, sonorities and rhythmic impulses into dialogue with contemporary classical music, creating works that are at once deeply rooted, exploratory and unmistakably her own.
