ElectroArctic is an experimental music duo formed by composer and flautist Arnannguaq Gerstrøm and trombonist and electronic musician Victor Brandt.
Arnannguaq creates contemporary score-based music rooted in Greenland, drawing on Inuit culture, nature and ways of understanding the world. She also works under the artistic identity Greenlandic Composer. Victor moves between the acoustic sound of the trombone and experimental electronic music, working with synthesisers and electronic soundworlds.
With an age difference of around 25 years and backgrounds spanning different generations, genres, countries, cultures and languages, they come together in a shared musical laboratory. Here, they explore what can emerge when contemporary score-based music, flute, trombone and Inuit references encounter electronic sound, improvisation and new technological possibilities.
ElectroArctic moves between the composed and the spontaneous, the acoustic and the electronic, the Arctic and the urban. Their approach is serious, playful and experimental – creating space for artistic exploration, curiosity and unexpected discoveries.
